— Local context
Your local Scranton
propane company.
Scranton, the "Electric City," is the Lackawanna County seat — Steamtown National Historic Site at the south end of downtown, Nay Aug Park along Roaring Brook, and the University of Scranton on the central blocks. The Electric City Trolley Museum and Houdini Museum mark the city's deeper heritage.
Older housing stock dominates — South Side, West Side, North Scranton, Hill Section all run heavily on heating oil. Tight row-home blocks and steep cross-streets demand drivers who know the city.
The Anthracite Region — Scranton south through Hazleton to Pottsville — is built on what was once the largest hard-coal field in the world. Mining heritage shaped the housing: tight row homes in the cities, more spread-out single-family in the boroughs.

— Why Scranton chooses us
Local fuel for local winters.
Eight reasons Scranton families and businesses choose Button Energy.
02 / 08
Cap Pricing Protection
Lock in a maximum rate for the season. If markets spike during the cold months, you stay protected — but if they fall, your rate falls too.
03 / 08
Grid Independent
When ice storms knock out power in Scranton, propane heating runs without electricity — and a generator keeps the rest going.
04 / 08
Tank Monitoring
Free tank monitoring for automatic-delivery customers. We watch the level and schedule the fill before you run low.
05 / 08
Family-Owned
Four generations of the Button family have run the company, from Kingston in 1933 to Mountain Top today.

— Hyper-local
A propane company
built for Scranton.
Choosing a propane company with decades of Pennsylvania winters behind it means you get a provider who shows up when conditions are at their worst — a family company in its fourth generation, delivering in Lackawanna County.
Local expertise
We've been delivering fuel in Pennsylvania since long before GPS existed, and we treat the address on file as a place we're committed to — not a row in a routing algorithm.
Everyday delivery area
Lackawanna County is part of our everyday delivery area, so a delivery here isn't a special trip. That local presence matters during cold snaps, when minutes between a "no-heat" call and a truck pulling in are the whole game.
Community support
Scranton is a community that values long-term relationships. By choosing Button Energy, you partner with a company whose commitment to Pennsylvania families has lasted over nine decades and four generations.
