When their first anniversary passes, you don't fall off the books. You drop to Tier 2 and keep earning on every order they place throughout Year 2 — at half the Year 1 rate.

When your referral signs up, they give your Referral ID to our customer service team during the call. We attach it to their account. Once they place their first fuel order and pay for it, the 10% commission on our gross margin from that order posts to your account 90 days after their payment clears. Every subsequent fuel order they place that calendar year does the same thing.

It's 10% of the difference between what we sell the fuel for and what we paid for it — not 10% of the total order. Margins fluctuate with the wholesale market, but it's typically in the range of $0.40–$0.80 per gallon. So a 1,000-gallon-per-year referral generally earns you somewhere in the $40–$80 range over the course of their year with us.

It's how we handle chargebacks and returns cleanly. If a referral cancels and refunds within 90 days, the commission unwinds with it. After 90 days the commission is locked in and the credit appears on your account.

You're overpaid — by us. If your earned credits at the end of the year are more than what you spent on fuel, we cut you an actual check or money order for the difference. Minimum payout is $20. This is the part of the program most people don't realize is on the table.

No. Refer one neighbor or refer your whole street. The Tier 1 (10%) and Tier 2 (5%) rates don't change based on volume. We'd love for you to refer more.

Yes — with a step-down. Year 1 of a referral pays Tier 1 (10% of gross margin on every order). Year 2 pays Tier 2 (5% on the same customer's orders). After 24 months they're a Button regular and the commission stream ends. If they refer someone new using your old ID at any point, that referral starts its own fresh two-year clock under your account.
